The Governors Ball 2018 lineup is the latest festival lineup shoe to drop.
A day after the Coachella 2018 lineup was released, the eighth-year festival will return to Randall’s Island Park in New York City from June 1st to June 3rd with Eminem, Jack White, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Travis Scott as headliners.
Other highlights include N.E.R.D., Halsey, CHVRCHES, The Gaslight Anthem (performing ’59 Sound), Silk City (Diplo + Mark Ronson), Sylvan Esso, Galantis, Maggie Rogers, and Margo Price.
The deeper undercard is equally strong with acts like Kelela, Third Eye Blind, Tash Sultana, BROCKHAMPTON, Kali Uchis, Alvvays, Wolf Alice, Moses Sumney, Billie Eilish, Middle Kids, and Sir Sly.
I’ve attended Governors Ball the last two years and have enjoyed their bookings, but I will admit that the festival features a higher amount of privileged teens than most festivals I attended. Some sets were borderline unsafe, although I had a blast checking out bands like Air and The Avalanches and Warpaint last year where mostly people in their late twenties and later hung out. Check out my Best + Worst of Governors Ball 2017 recap and my travel journal, as Governors Ball 2017 fell right in the midst of my 11 festivals in 11 weeks trip last spring.
