From the opening moments of Water Slice’s new track “Our Hearts Don’t,” the bass line from the track becomes a part of you. It consumes you.
The wistful vocals of lead man Patrick Phillips shine on the track. Phillips, formerly of BRAINSTORM, also happens to be responsible for the groovy bass line. The song was recorded at Frog Sound Studios, near the LA River. The band draws inspiration from the swirling guitaris of Turkish psychedelia like Erki Koray and Selda. There’s a certain power-pop feel with the riff-heavy sound the track takes.
Water Slice just played a show last week opening up for Klangstof at The Satellite. We hope we get a chance to see them again on the LA circuit soon.
