The Sasquatch 2018 lineup is one of the last major spring 2018 festival lineups to drop, and it’s finally arrived.
Headlining this year’s festival at the beautiful Gorge in George, WA are Bon Iver, The National, David Byrne, and Modest Mouse. It’s an indie kid’s dream, but these headliners lack the punch of Sasquatches of yesteryear — perhaps a sign that LiveNation is pulling the purse strings closed a bit after falling ticket sales and a reduction from four to three days in recent years.
The lineup is full of good names though, and they are narrowing the genres they favor, seemingly with intent to maintain a sharper focus. The undercard features less heavily on the electronic music side than in year’s past — the highest-billed electronic act is the trio of names Snakehips, What So Not, and Jai Wolf on the fourth line of the undercard.
Of the 19 spring 2018 festival lineups I’ve tracked, Sasquatch has 37 of its 79 acts unique to their festival (46.8%, 12th of the 19). Among the top acts unique to Sasquatch are Modest Mouse, Spoon, Ray LaMontagne, TV on the Radio, Neko Case, Slowdive, Wolf Parade, PUP, and Phoebe Bridgers. These are all not coincidentally acts that will go over very well with the Pacific Northwest.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 10 at 10 AM Pacific Time. Three-day general admission passes are priced at $325. There is a KEXP pre-sale using the code ROAR good until 10 PM PT.
