Finally! Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan returns to the States — and more importantly Los Angeles — with a date at the Teragram Ballroom on Wednesday, February 15.
Hannigan is touring in support of her beautiful third solo record, At Swim. Hannigan burst onto the scene in her teens as a backup vocalist for Damien Rice, sharing her haunting vocals on tracks like “Volcano” and “Rootless Tree.”
Hannigan has long been a favorite of mine. She’s rarely performed in America in recent years. The one time I saw her was back in San Francisco in 2011 and it was such a mesmerizing performance that I’ve counted the days until seeing her again.
Opening as support for Lisa Hannigan is Heather Woods Broderick, whose album Glider was one of the better records of 2016. You might know Woods Broderick as a touring backup vocalist and keyboardist for amazing singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten.
Tickets to the show are priced at $20.00, with a 7:00 PM doors. The general on-sale begins Friday, December 23 at 10 AM Pacific Time.
