Both Young the Giant and Fitz and The Tantrums have been playing shows for about a decade, and Los Angeles has been kind to both bands.
Saturday night, the two co-headlined a bill at The Forum, matching the two alt-rock radio favorites in a well-built bill. Nashville indie rock up-and-comers COIN opened things up.
Fitz & The Tantrums always deliver an energetic live show, and Saturday night was no exception. This show came just two years since they last played The Forum. This time, they played an 18-song set that traversed their entire catalog, though only two songs came from my personal favorite record Pickin’ Up the Pieces.
Young the Giant matched with their own greatest hits style set, with six songs each from 2016’s Home of the Strange and last year’s Mirror Master. It was a victory-lap type show, and the crowd had The Forum shaking for the entirety.
