The Japanese House has shared a new song from their upcoming Swim Against the Tide EP — and it’s a doozy.
Titled “Face Like Thunder,” Amber Bain’s latest track features the same dreamy vocals of previous efforts. The song first debuted on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 program and is now available everywhere. The production is of a high level as well and the comparisons to Imogen Heap won’t stop with this latest tune. There’s also a happy upbeat James Blake vibe in play. We loved her at Shaky Knees in May and can’t wait to hear the rest of the tunes that’ll come from her next work. Swim Against the Tide is due out November 11 via Dirty Hit Records. Bain has seen previous works produced by members of The 1975, including frontman Matty Healy. No word on if he lent his hands on this new track or EP yet.
“Baby, you’ve got a face like thunder,” Bain sings in the chorus. “Always trying to get in matter / Just stay til I say it’s over,” the words washing over you with beautiful melodies to accompany then.
As we noted earlier in September, The Japanese House has a show coming up at The Echo, which has now sold out.
