Snakehips + MØ drop “Don’t Leave” video

Nine days in 2017, I declared the Snakehips + collaboration “Don’t Leave” the song of 2017 — and I’m not wavering from that at all.

They shared the video for the song on Thursday — and it follows along the heartbreaking lyrics to the track pretty closely. MØ has a penchant for singing the vocals on tracks that go on to major success — “Lean On” with Major Lazer is one of the most streamed songs in history thanks to her ability to kill it on a hook. The hook on “Don’t Leave” might be even better — and that’s saying a lot.

The video features MØ being in a situation where she’s seeing a guy who is also seeing another girl. Instead of kicking his ass, she tries to win the guy’s heart. Anyone who treats MØ as a side chick is clearly a fool.

I’ve probably listened to this song 100 times since it dropped a few weeks ago. The UK production duo Snakehips has also proved they have a knack for crafting catchy hits, and we are anxiously awaiting their debut album. We look forward to catching them on the festival circuit this year starting with CRSSD Fest in San Diego in March.

MØ has a local date at The Novo on March 23, with tickets priced at $21.50. She’s a dynamic live performer and I highly recommend checking her out — hopefully we’ll see her perform this song live.
