Montreal indie pop act Men I Trust has been my favorite discovery as I prepare to head to SXSW in a few weeks. Their newest single “Show Me How” has done nothing but keep me stoked on seeing them a couple times at the festival.
The song reminds me a bit of the French band Air with its simple but fun bass line and lead vocalist Emmanuelle Proulx’s floating vocals. I first fell in love with the band upon hearing their single “Tailwhip” on my Spotify Discover Weekly a few weeks back. That song sounds very much like the Zero 7 track (ft. Sia on vocals) that plays in Garden State when Zach Braff takes ecstasy.
“Show Me How” is much slower paced than “Tailwhip”, but is a perfectly soothing track that should relax the hell out of you. Watch the video below:
The band has a North American tour scheduled, but unfortunately there are no West Coast dates scheduled as of yet. If you’re headed to SXSW, you’re lucky like me and will have a few opportunities to catch them in Austin — otherwise, put them in your playlists and I will keep you posted as soon as they have a SoCal date to attend.
