Aussie soul-R&B singer Meg Mac shared a new song Friday to go along with the news that her much-anticipated debut album will drop this summer.
The song is called “Low Blows” and is very much in line with the kind of alt-R&B tunes we’ve come to expect from the Aussie. I first discovered Meg Mac covering “Bridges” on Triple J’s Like a Version and loved her unique soulful take on the electropop song. From there I checked out her self-titled EP that featured awesome songs like “Roll Up Your Sleeves” and a cover of Bill Withers’ “Grandma’s Hands.”
I got to see Meg Mac at SXSW in 2015 a couple of times and then later at Hangout Fest and Governors Ball. She’s as dynamic a live performer as she is in the studio and I’m stoked we are finally getting a full album of her tunes this summer after a three-year wait.
Her debut album is also called Low Blows and comes out July 14 via 300 Entertainment. Check out the song “Low Blows” below:
