After sharing a video directed by Paul Thomas Anderson of HAIM playing in the studio, our favorite sisters from the Valley have dropped the lead single from their upcoming sophomore record.
The track is called “Want You Back” and features a chorus that’ll give you serious feels. It’s a bit more stripped down than songs from their debut record sounded, with an acoustic guitar serving as the foundation of the track. The song features middle sister Danielle handling most of the lead vocals, but baby sister Alana Haim gets her chance to shine vocally in one of the final choruses on the track. Listen to it on Spotify below:
If you were lucky enough to catch HAIM at their two free shows at the Teragram Ballroom on Monday and Tuesday, you were the first to hear the song as they played it live. They also gave the live debut of “Right Now”, the song from the video directed by P.T. Anderson. You can catch HAIM at some festivals in the States this year, such as Bumbershoot, Lost Lake, and Life is Beautiful among others.
The much-anticipated follow-up to their 2014 debut Days Are Gone is called Something to Tell You and is out July 7 via Polydor Records.
