The GIRL SCHOOL 2018 lineup has arrived less than a month before the festival will take place, and it’s got one of rock’s heavy hitters atop the bill.
Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson and the Girl School Choir will headline the festival, which takes place Friday, February 2 to Sunday, February 4 at the Bootleg Theater.
Also on the bill are a variety of genre-spanning acts like Jay Som, Kristin Control (with special guests), Moon Honey, Amber Coffman, Lauren Ruth Ward, and Soccer Mommy are some of the highlights.
Sleater-Kinney frontwoman Carrie Brownstein will be one of the speakers, participating in a Q&A. Also, a songwriting workshop with MUNA is a pretty sweet addition.
On Feb. 1, the following lineup additions were announced: a cameo by Best Coast, plus sets from Bosco, Leikeli47, and Lesser Pieces.
Passes to GIRL SCHOOL 2018 are on sale now. Three-day passes are priced at $60, with single-day passes priced at $22. You can also choose to just donate to the cause. GET YOUR TICKETS HERE.
We attended the last two GIRL SCHOOL events and have enjoyed them — check out our GIRL SCHOOL 2017 recap. It’s something that has needed to exist for a while and all the credit in the world is deserved by the team, headed by Anna Bulbrook, who have pulled it together.
Net proceeds of the festival will benefit writegirl.org, an LA-based creative writing and mentoring organization that spotlights the power of a girl and her pen. You can find out more about them here.
