The Coachella 2020 lineup is here — and it’s officially festival lineup season as a result.
Nearly every major U.S. festival awaits Coachella’s lineup drop so they can follow with theirs. Well, tonight that domino has dropped. The Coachella 2020 lineup is topped by Rage Against the Machine — which was previously confirmed — as well as Frank Ocean and Travis Scott. Goldenvoice once again puts their faith in Frank Ocean, who a few years ago burned them on a couple festival gigs (before ultimately playing FYF Fest 2017).
The festival takes place at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio on the consecutive weekends of Friday, April 10 to Sunday, April 12 and Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19.
Other top names on this year’s lineup include Calvin Harris, Flume, Lana del Rey, Thom Yorke Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, Run the Jewels, Daniel Caesar, 21 Savage, Marina, fka Twigs, and the real shocker — composer Danny Elfman.
Hip-hop, pop and electronic music seems to be featured in the top few lines more than any other year. There’s some good rock stuff buried deeper in the undercard — such as King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Chicano Batman, IDLES, and Snail Mail among the offerings, but it looks like a big shift even further towards the mainstream by a festival once renowned for bringing back together old bands.
Limited Coachella 2020 weekend passes will go on sale Monday, January 6 at 12 PM Pacific Time. Weekend one passes are sold out.
Keep a lookout as we’ll give you the low-down on some of the names you might have missed on first glance but must see this year on the Polo Fields.
