Cage the Elephant aren’t a band to rest on their laurels. The GRAMMY-winning rockers from Kentucky have announced a new tour — but with a special twist.
The group will be on the road from starting in March for what they are calling “Live and Unpeeled, the Acoustic Tour.” The band will perform stripped-down sets of their material, including a stop in Northridge at the Valley Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, April 12. They will also play the When We Were Young festival at the Observatory in Santa Ana.
“After our recent acoustic performance at the Bridge School Benefit, we wanted to share this intimate experience with our fans and take it on the road,” the band said via a press release. “We plan to add in a string quartet to make it really cool.”
Along with their tour, the band will be on the festival circuit rather heavily in 2017. They’ll make stops at Shaky Knees in Atlanta, Boston Calling, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Forecastle as far as stateside festivals.
Cage the Elephant are one of the best live rock acts currently performing. They never fail to deliver high-energy performances and they always ignite the crowd in a way that many other bands come up short. I’ve been to the iHeartRadio Theater multiple times, but it was Cage the Elephant that was able to get the most out of the crowd, from any of the bands I’ve seen there.
Tickets will cost $49.50 to this show, and they will go on sale Friday, March 10 at 12 PM. Tickets are available through a fan-club pre-sale on Wednesday, March 8. You can also earn a chance to meet the band with front-row tickets, a signed acoustic guitar, and other goodies if you donate to Buddy House/Down Syndrome of Southern Kentucky, via the band’s Crowdrise page. You can find full tour dates for the band at the bottom of the page.
