Future alt-rock / alt-pop mega star Bishop Briggs dropped a new song Friday — and it might be our favorite of hers yet.
“Won’t wave my white flag, no / This time I won’t let go / I’d rather die / Than give up the fight, give up the fight, give up the fight, give up the fight” on her new song “White Flag” in a way that sounds like if K. Flay and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes had a baby — and it slaps.
The Los Angeles-based musician will surely score another alt-radio hit with “White Flag”, and it could be bigger than “River”. If this song doesn’t feature prominently in either a super-hero or action movie this summer, that’s the upset of the year. Give “White Flag” a listen below:
The singer shared the song early with those who attended Monday’s ALS Benefit show at the Hotel Cafe, though she played a much stripped-back version than the soaring anthem that features here. Bishop Briggs also has a sold-out Fonda Theatre gig on May 4 — we hope you got your tickets! She is also at BUKU Fest, Innings Fest, and Bunbury.
