Punk rockers The Regrettes played The Wiltern with Rocket and Claud on Thursday. The Regrettes are ¾ female consisting of founders Lydia Night (Lead Vocals/Guitar), lead guitarist Genessa Gariano with bassist Brooke Dickson and drummer Drew Thomsen who both joined in 2018. The group formed in 2015 and released their debut album Feel Your Feelings Fool! Their most recent release was Further Joy released on April 8th this year. The Regrettes opened with “Dress Up” and played a total of 17 songs. Even if you’ve never listened to The Regrettes you can see their show and become an instant fan.
Night did something I had never seen before which was having the crowd split right across the middle during the second and third songs “Better Now” and “Monday” then let the audience jump/mosh around the floor. I’ve seen circle pits and mosh pits at metal & punk shows but haven’t seen a crowd bounce around like this before. The Regrettes played three of the four singles of their new album “Monday,” “That’s What Makes Me Love You,” and the first song of the encore was “Anxieties (Out of Time).” The closing song was “Seashore.”
