Welsh rockers The Joy Formidable spent the final months of the decade celebrating the album that helped launch them — and did so in style Saturday at the Teragram Ballroom in DTLA.
A Balloon Called Moaning featured a number of big anthems. “The Greatest Light is the Greatest Shade” kicks off the record in high gear, and “Whirring” might be one of the underrated rock songs of the century. Ritzy Bryan has one of the most unique voices in the business and bassist Rhydian Dafydd and drummer Matt Thomas really bring things together.
