Though she’s been making music for about a decade-and-a-half, it’s the 2019 record Titanic RisingĀ that’s garnered the most buzz for Santa Monica-born singer-songwriter Weyes Blood.
The project of Natalie Merling, Weyes Blood sold out the Fonda Theatre on Thursday night, just a handful of days before she would play an early-afternoon Outside Lands 2019 set in San Francisco. The Sub Pop artist has been enjoying a banner year, playing sold out theaters thanks to the critical acclaim of her latest record.
Merling is kind of a throwback to Joni Mitchell and Karen Carpenter, and she mesmerized the sold-out LA crowd Thursday night.
Weyes Blood continues touring through September and October, and will make stops at Austin City Limits and Pitchfork in France.
