Singer-songwriter NIKI brought her Buzz World Tour to the picturesque Greek Theatre in Los Angeles last weekend, and Pass The Aux was there to cover the show on the sold-out night #1 (October 11th, 2024). The Indonesian-American Pop/R&B artist, born in Jakarta as Nicole Zefanya, is selling out venues across the world as the ‘buzz’ surrounding her career has soared thanks to a series of well-received singles plus high-visibility appearances at the Coachella, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Head In The Clouds festivals.
From the moment she walked out on stage to the intro music for “Buzz”, to her energetic closing performance of the same song in full, NIKI brought the nearly 6,000 people in attendance along on her one-hundred minute journey through anticipation, joy, heartache, longing, and nostalgia. The song performances featured the artist’s adorable and delicate yet powerful vocals, sometimes bringing fans to their feet screaming along and dancing, other times forcing them back into their seats overcome by emotion, and finally leaving them feeling as though they had just taken part in both the full cycle of a relationship and the full cycle of seasons, from beginning to end, through good times and bad.
Hometown artists That Band Honey and folk singer-songwriter Allison Ponthier opened the evening. NIKI’s new album Buzz is out now, and her Buzz Word Tour continues through Canada, Europe, and Asia, before ending in Australia next March.
