Barcelona indie rock quartet MOURN brought the fire to the Bootleg Theater on Saturday night!
The band released their third full-length record Sorpresa Familia in June, an album that was borne largely out of issues that arose with their former Spanish label. This was the first time they’ve toured North America since the release of the record and their energy was infectious.
Their riff-heavy brand of rock makes it easy to dance and bop your head. They’ve got a Wolf Alice meets ’90s post-grunge vibe to their sound. Vocalist and guitarist Carla Perez brings the same kind of energy to her singing and stage presence that Wolf Alice lead singer Ellie Rowsell has become known for.
The band continues their tour through mid-August, finishing things up on the East Coast on August 11 in Allston, Mass. Don’t miss them if they come to your town!
French Vanilla and Chastity served as support. You can find photos of all three bands at the bottom of this post!
