Today’s young blues king Marcus King played a sold-out show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on May 14. King started his band at the age of 17 and by 18 already released his first album. Now 28, King has played Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival in 2019 and 2023, opened for Greta Van Fleet in 2021 and released six albums with the most recent one Mood Swings being released this year.
JJ Wilde opened the show and comedian Bert Kreisher introduced King. King played a set of 26 songs beginning with an instrumental jam followed by “Beautiful Stranger.” The songs included Marcus King solo songs, Marcus King Band songs, and covers of Danny O’ Keefe, Gabe Lee, Soulive, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
