The MainFest Alhambra 2017 lineup has dropped, and it’s a very solid bill from the second-year festival.
UPDATE: MAINFEST ALHAMBRA HAS BEEN UNEXPECTEDLY CANCELLED (8/15/17)
Topping the lineup are electronic duo Purity Ring, who have only performed once so far in 2017 as they work on new music. The festival takes place in downtown Alhambra on Saturday, September 9. Alhambra is only about 20 minutes east of Los Angeles, in case you aren’t familiar.
Also part of the phase one lineup drop are Ghostland Observatory, BROODS, Classixx, Poolside, Polica, and Gavin Turek. A DJ stage is yet to be announced, along with six sidestages featuring local and up-and-coming acts. Last year’s inaugural fest featured Capital Cities, Miami Horror, and !!! (chk chk chk) atop the bill.
Purity Ring’s lone performance so far in 2017 was at Fortress Fest, which the duo said would be one of their lone performances of the year as they work on the follow-up to 2015’s Another Eternity. It’s a pretty big get for the second-year festival. The production of their live show is a sight to behold as their fancy lighting matches up with the beat of their tunes.
We’ve seen New Zealand synthpop duo BROODS deliver many remarkable performances in support of their killer second full-length record Conscious. Classixx and Poolside will undoubtedly bring some chill vibes, and Polica are known for their mesmerizing live show as well. Gavin Turek is an up-and-comer who has been making waves as of late.
General admission tickets are priced at $65.00, with VIP tickets priced at $119.00. VIP passes are 21-and-over and include a commemorative T-shirt and access to special viewing areas for the main stage, a separate festival entrance, and a private bar. Children three and younger are allowed without a ticket. There are no ins and outs at the festival.
