Luna Shadows thrills packed house at Bardot’s School Night

Los Angeles-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Luna Shadows made her live debut last week at Bardot’s fantastic weekly free-with-RSVP concert series School Night and it was quite an introduction.

Playing songs from her just-released debut EP Summertime, the promising electropop performer stunned a crowd that was packed to the gills with her brief but fun-filled set. It’s clear she’s been preparing for this moment for a long time and showed composure beyond her years and experience. The standout song of the night in my opinion was “Waves,” a song which has racked up 100,000+ views on YouTube in just a few months. The intimate venue was packed despite the original headliner Faeker falling out at the last minute due to travel issues and the singer took great advantage.

You can stream her entire Summertime EP on Spotify or pre-order it on vinyl at her store, where only 100 copies have been printed. Now Now’s Brad Hale and The Naked and Famous’ Thom Powers lent production help on the EP and if you’re a fan of either band, this should be right up your alley. Luna Shadows has sort of an early Michelle Branch songwriting style if the singer had gone the electropop route rather than a straight-forward singer-songwriter direction.
