Los Angeles-based synthpop producer and singer Luna Shadows has dropped the video for the title track from her latest EP and it’s as glorious as one would expect.
The singer exploded on the scene with her debut EP last year — “Waves” was my favorite track — and she’s crafted an equally enticing aesthetic around her sound, which has always been apparent by her awesome music videos.
That’s the case for “Youth”, her latest video. The song features soaring synths and an anthemic chorus, two things that she’s come to be known for. This song makes me think this is what Michelle Branch would have sounded like if she went into the electropop space. Watch the video for “Youth” below:
“This video was a collaboration between me and director Alexa San Román,” she told The Beat Juice, who premiered the video. “‘Youth’ is a song about reflection, so we wanted to make something that played on the idea of the way we see things in the present versus the way we remember things: in split-second pieces, mirror-images, fractured moments, and changing colors.”
I caught Luna Shadows’ first live show ever at School Night at Bardot last August and was blown away. She’s performing at The Echo on Wednesday, November 29 as the headliner for the latest Popshop West. You won’t want to miss her!
