Japanese Breakfast announces October gig at Fonda Theatre

Fresh off a couple memorable performances at Coachella 2018 (as well as a Coachella sideshow at The Roxy in between we were lucky enough to catch), indie rock favorite Japanese Breakfast has a show at the Fonda Theatre on October 2!  Montreal post-punk band Ought will be joining as support.

The singer’s lo-fi rock-pop mishmash has attracted a cult-like following, bolstered further by her propensity for intense live performances. Last year’s full-length record Soft Sounds From Another Planet landed her on a ton of year-end best-of lists, with good reason.

Japanese Breakfast is the solo project of Michelle Zauner. Her first record Psychopomp was written while the singer was mourning of her mother’s passing from cancer and last year’s follow-up built on that brilliantly resilient record tremendously.

Tickets to see Japanese Breakfast and Ought at the Fonda Theatre on Tuesday, October 2 are priced at $23.00 and go on sale Friday, April 27 at 10 AM Pacific Time. There is a Goldenvoice pre-sale happening on Thursday, April 26 at 10 AM using the password WINDMILLS. The show is scheduled to start at 9 PM for this all-ages show.

On the festival circuit? Japanese Breakfast will also be at this year’s Sasquatch and Bonnaroo festivals.
