Hazel English has a new video out and it’s nearly as dreamy as her music.
The video for “Control” fits the track like a glove. It starts with the singer playing waitress in a diner before collapsing on her bed in some sort of dingy motel. The song comes from her upcoming Never Going Home EP. The debut EP drops this Friday, October 7 via House Anxiety/Marathon Artists.
The Oakland-based beach pop artist has been grabbing headlines since coming on the scene a few years ago. It’s no surprise she’s working with Jackson Phillips aka Day Wave, the two are basically lo-fi royalty in Northern California’s East Bay at this point.
I caught Hazel English when she performed at Bardot’s weekly free-with-RSVP party School Night earlier this year. I was immediately taken aback by her tunes and am stoked she’ll be back in Los Angeles next month. Don’t miss her when she opens for Honeyblood at The Echo on Monday, November 7. Tickets are an extremely affordable $9.50 in advance of the show.
