KCRW reigns king at bringing free concerts to Los Angeles in the summer, and their latest announcement of shows at the Hammer Museum only cement that status.
The four-part series is called Rebel Rebel and all four lineups feature female-fronted acts and DJs every Thursday in July at the Hammer Museum. Kicking off the series on July 6 is rising 19-year-old rocker Grace Mitchell, who has been killing it on the festival circuit with stops at Coachella and Hangout among them. KCRW DJ Valida and and WARGIRL are also on the bill.
Disco-pop act Niia headlines the July 13 show, with a DJ set from KCRW’s Anne Litt and singer-songwriter SPELLES. Los Angeles electro-pop act Elohim tops the July 20 show with KCRW’s Marion Hodges spinning and an opening set from Suzi Analogue. The series finishes up July 27 with a headline performance from experimental pop act Amber Mark. KCRW’s Liza Richardson is DJing and Maria del Pilar will open the show.
Music starts at 7:30 PM each night, with a happy-hour of drinks and food starting at 6:30 PM.
