South African synthpoppers St. Lucia headline The Wiltern next month and we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away! #TICKETBACKTUESDAY
Touring in support of their second full-length album Matter, the Brooklyn-based group returns to LA on Tuesday, October 11. The Wiltern will be their biggest gig in Los Angeles to date, having previously headlined at venues like the Fonda Theatre.
Lead man Jean-Philip Grobler and his band always pack a lot of punch in their live shows. They bring so much percussion in the form of two drummers and feature a lot of interesting instrumentation. It’s always a major dance party and the new album sounds great live. People seem to be really familiar with all their tunes, though they always get the biggest pops for tunes like “Elevate” and “Closer Than This.”
St. Lucia has been in heavy touring mode supporting their new record. I saw them about a half-dozen times just this year at festivals all across the country.
