British rockers Bloc Party are in town this weekend for a show at the Hollywood Bowl — and we’re giving you a chance to win TWO tickets! The show also features Bob Mould and Ezra Furman opening and promises to be a fun Sunday night. It’s also coincidentally one of our Best Shows This Week!
Bloc Party is touring in support of their 2016 album Hymns — which received solid reviews despite a lineup reshuffle. If you haven’t had a chance to see this new-look lineup, I can promise you they still know how to light up a stage. At FYF Fest last year and SXSW and Shaky Knees this year, I had an opportunity to see them perform and they didn’t disappoint. Vocalist Kele Okereke’s unique brand of vocals are as good as ever and he seems to be having as much fun on stage as ever.
Bob Mould is also on the bill. If you’re unfamiliar with his solo work, you might be familiar with what he’s done in the past. Mould was a member of Husker Du in the ’80s as well as Sugar in the ’90s. Indie rocker Ezra Furman is opening up the show.
What’s also cool about this show is it is preceded by free roller skating. From 4 PM to 6:45 PM you can skate for free on the Hollywood Bowl Museum patio. Just show your tickets to be admitted.
