dodie played night one of two sold out shows at the Theater at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday night. dodie is currently wrapping up her US tour and continuing on to tour Europe in April promoting her first studio album, Build a Problem, which came out mid 2021.
The night started with opener Lizzy McAlpine who had the crowd cheering and singing along. Lizzy shared that she has been a huge fan of dodie for years and later, when dodie took the stage, she expressed how big a fan she is of Lizzy.
dodie had the theater captivated throughout her set with a beautiful, dynamic performance filled with instrument and outfit changes, choreography, and beautiful orchestral strings. The production and the incredible lighting complimented the performance in the stunning historic theater. The energy and interaction between dodie’s band members was lovely, with each musician seeming to be having the best time with their best friends. dodie always puts on an incredible show that is not to be missed (if tonight – night two, the final show of the US tour – was not sold out, I would have suggested you run to grab a ticket!).
