Briston Maroney and his band played the historical Troubadour on Wednesday, February 16th for his “Sunflower” tour. The crowd was buzzing and excited to get into the venue as the line was all the way down the street before the doors opened.
Maroney’s set started around 10pm and he opened with his hit song “Small Talk”. In the middle of his set, his band stepped off stage and he sang a solo “stripped down” version of his song “June”. This was a fan favorite as the crowd knew every word. The second half of Maroney’s set allowed for more up beat songs and got the crowd dancing and moving around. He closed off his set with his song “Freakin Out On The Interstate”, another favorite of the crowd. That song has garnered over 113 million streams on Spotify alone and has become a bit of a calling card for the indie rocker.
The Troubadour was a great place for Briston Maroney to perform for his LA fans as it allowed for a more of an intimate performance. We hope to see him back around LA soon.
Starting right on time at 9pm, Genevieve Stokes was the opener and she blew the crowd away with her euphoric sound. Some highlights from her set included “Parking Lot”and “Portland Nights” off of her new EP, “Swimming Lessons”. Genevieve along with her two piece band really brought her set together.
