The BottleRock 2017 lineup has been released.
The fifth-year festival returns to wine country with headliners the Foo Fighters and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers headline. Also Maroon 5 if that’s your thing. This takes place May 26 to 28 in Napa Valley.
Also on the bill are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Modest Mouse, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, The Roots, Silversun Pickups, Band of Horses, Fitz & The Tantrums, The Naked & Famous, Michael Franti & Spearhead, St. Lucia, Bob Moses, Catfish & the Bottlemen, AlunaGeorge, Frightened Rabbit, and many more!
Closer to the bottom line features some compelling acts as well: from rising pop star Bishop Briggs to Oakland lo-fi artist Day Wave to folk-Americana sister trio Baskery, as well as Josh Kelley and Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas.
A few other standout bookings that I don’t expect many other spots: the reunion of ’90s alt-rockers Live, hip-hop legend Warren G, as well as the reunion of hip-hop duo House of Pain.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, January 4 at 10 AM Pacific Time. General admission tickets start at $309, VIP tickets start at $599. I gotta say, there’s enough stuff there I like that I don’t see on the Coachella 2017 lineup that also dropped today that I’m really considering returning. Single-day tickets start at $129.00 and go on sale Tuesday, January 10 at 10 AM Pacific Time.
I attended the festival in 2015 — and aside from getting sucker-punched in the eye on the first day, I had a pretty great time. It’s kind of an odd mix as far as festivals go, lots of older people and their kids. A lot of people bring blankets and spread them out, even kind of close to the stage. It definitely carries a more family vibe than most festivals and it caters towards high-end attendees more than the GA crowd.
After I got sucker-punched, I was given access to the amenities of the platinum VIP (over $1,000 per day) and it came with free booze and gourmet food cooked every other hour, as well as backstage and sidestage access. It definitely carries some of the best VIP amenities of any fest.
BottleRock aftershows are on sale now, including JJ Grey & Mofro, Bob Moses and Day Wave, St. Lucia, and House of Pain. Check it out here.
