Electropop star BØRNS has added a third Los Angeles date — and this time it will be free.
BØRNS will be headlining the October 30 edition of the prized School Night series at Bardot. Also, maybe it’s just because it is the day before Halloween I’m thinking about this, but doesn’t he kinda look like Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka?
If you’re unfamiliar, School Night is the free weekly showcase that future stars like HAIM, alt-J, Father John Misty, and Hozier have played in the past. They are constantly on the ball when it comes to identifying acts that are going to blow up, and their credibility has allowed them to nab shows like this one.
The RSVPs for the BØRNS show are being collected here. You’re going to want to arrive before doors open at 7:30 PM to have a better chance of getting in to see him. The spot is sure to reach its 350 capacity quickly and there are some problematic sightlines depending on where you get stuck.
Get there REALLY early and you can be face to face with him! He played a free show at the Santa Monica Pier last year that was overflowing. He already has sold-out dates at the Viaduct and new Moroccan Lounge.
BØRNS is working on the follow-up to his wildly successful 2015 debut Dopamine. He’s already released new music, “Faded Heart” in July being a very good next step for the young musician. His falsetto is one of the strongest in music right now and incredible to experience live.
Also already confirmed for this show is CYN. Ironically enough, I was reading a Billboard story on BØRNS earlier today and embedded in the text was a feature on her, a recent signee to Katy Perry’s label. I like the one track “Together” I heard, give it a listen here.
