Alternative electro-pop artist Bishop Briggs celebrated her third and newest studio album Tell My Therapist I’m Fine with an intimate release show at the historic Troubadour in Los Angeles. Dressed as a nurse at a violent crime scene with a white uniform covered in bloody handprints, the London-born singer/songwriter gave fans a live preview of nearly all of the songs off the album, as well as candid explanations of how each was written and what each was inspired by. This was the live debut of all songs played from the new record.

Starting with the album’s opening track “My Serotonin” and all the way through to its conclusion with her 2016 mega-hit “River”, the songs showcased her well-renowned vocals which are piercingly powerful, soulful, and fierce. This was in sharp contrast with the between-song banter and song explanations which revealed her sweet girl-next-door real world demeanor.

Many of the songs from the new album were influenced by the artist’s (whose birth name is Sarah Grace McLaughlin) late sister Kate who died in 2021 of ovarian cancer. The songs were written “in pieces, on bits of paper, in voice notes, and alas in therapy” as a means of connection with Kate and their shared teenage musical experiences together.

Bishop Briggs’ Tell My Therapist I’m Fine Tour kicks off in the Spring of 2025, with a Los Angeles date at the Teragram Ballroom on March 13th as well as a stop the next evening at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown. Tickets for many of the shows are already available for purchase.
